G.A. West grew up in the small town of Maynard, Massachusetts which is where he began accumulating many of the talents that he possesses today.  Throughout his school years, while staying on top of his academic studies (he often made honor roll, was a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, and participated in the Math League), he would garner skills that would suit him well later on in his life.

Although he was overweight growing up, he was always active, having played basketball from an early age and throughout high school.  He would also participate in track and field (running the 220 and competing in shot put) and weightlifting towards the end of his high school career.

Early on in high school, he began expressing his leadership skills as well as his desire for helping others as he joined the school's Peer Leadership program.  Within a year of involvement, he was voted program president and began running the program making immediate improvements.  He implemented a Teen Crisis Hotline within the school as well as spearheading many campaigns against drugs and tobacco.

Aside from his duties as both class and Peer Leadership president, he was also heavily involved with SADD (Students against Drunk Driving), GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance), WAVM (the school's radio station which was known for it's charitable actions), Diversity Club, and a slew of other activities.

G.A. West has always had a flare for theatrics, so it should come as no surprise that he was also heavily involved with the drama club (playing Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Professor Karpathy in My Fair Lady, and other roles).

It was while in high school that his DARE Officer introduced him to the weight room.  Something that began as a way to improve his body to look good for girls, would become a centerpiece of his life to this day.  G.A. was so hooked on weights and exercising, that he soon had a second job (he also worked for a local bank) working at a gym so he could work out for free.  It was there that he got his first taste of personal training.  When gym members saw the transformation he made of his own body, they were soon asking him for diet and exercise tips.

Upon graduating high school, G.A. West attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut where he majored in political science and criminal justice.  Continuing his love for performance, he was also a drama minor.

shumartialarts.jpgPicking up where he left off in high school, he began participating with a cornucopia of campus organizations including SHU Players (drama club) and UMOJA (an African unity organization).  Given his propensity for athletics and academics, and his desire for competition, he was drawn to the school's martial arts and debate teams, where he excelled at each.

He was trained by Jayme and Marie Watson in the arts of Tae Kwon Do and Ninjitsu.  He was a very formidable fighter, losing only one match (his very first) in a CMA tournament, before going undefeated the rest of his college career.

His sophomore year, he and his debate team partner (long time friend, Brian Gardner) made it to the World Debate Tournament (held that year in Toronto, Canada) where they faired very well, earning international rankings before being ousted from the tournament by a highly ranked and skilled senior pairing from Oxford.

Upon leaving school, he resumed working at his local gym.  This time, a bit more knowledgeable, he was brought in as a front desk manager and personal trainer.  It was at this time that G.A. began trying to figure out what to do with his life.  His pondering and meditations led him to pursue a life long dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

He researched a plethora of wrestling schools, and ultimately decided on enrolling at the school of Walter "Killer" Kowalski in Malden, Massachusetts.  Once graduating from "the Harvard of wrestling schools", he continued his wrestling education with luminaries such as "Super Bad" Steve Bradley, "Soul Man" Alex G, Norman Smiley, Quentin Michaels, Sonny Roselli, Gino Martino, and WWE legend, the Honkytonk Man.

G.A. West would wrestle for four years under the ring name of Osirus.  Winning multiple titles in multiple promotions throughout the United States and Canada, he was quickly climbing up the ranks of independent wrestling.

While in the midst of wrestling, G.A. earned a personal trainer's certification from the World Fitness Association where he also earned a certification in nutrition.

G.A. WestG.A. paused his pursuit of a professional wrestling career to take a stab at a different aspect of the entertainment industry; Modeling.  He had moderate success with Dynasty Models of Boston before he moved to New York where he signed with Model Management, Inc (now Wild Models Talent).

G.A. West has also kept up his passion of acting, having starred in the play, Just Say Love and having numerous background roles on various movies and television programs such as Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Ugly Betty.

Today, G.A. West is a successful personal trainer, running his own company, Simply the Best Fitness, where he does personal training, self defense demonstrations, and motivational speaking for offices and schools (If you are interested in hiring G.A. West for any of these services, please contact him through the Booking Page).  He also works for Wellness 360 as an Exercise Specialist for their Times Square location.
